A motorman, like a train engineer, operated electric interurban and streetcars on rail lines across Indiana. Motorette was a name given to female streetcar operators during WWII, including for Indianapolis Railways and our very own streetcar No. 153.

The members-only online community requires a Facebook account. The quarterly e-newsletter will be emailed.

The members-only online community is a privilege based upon adherence to the community code-of-conduct found within the Facebook page and current payment of monthly dues.
Memberships are month-to-month. Membership tiers may include benefits that affect the deductibility of the charitable contribution. See each tier’s description for the per-month deductible value.
The memberships are defined as “informal memberships” per the organization’s bylaws, as the Hoosier Heartland Trolley Company incorporation documents do not permit legal members with voting rights, as described within the Indiana Nonprofit Act. Your membership entitles you to exclusive content and connection with the organization’s mission as a tax-deductible donation within the limits of the Internal Revenue Code.
By registering for a membership, you understand and agree that your membership does not constitute a legal membership nor entails voting or governance rights within the corporation.
Becoming a donor member does not entail a volunteer position, nor is becoming a donor member required to volunteer. Prospective volunteers should visit our volunteer page and submit a volunteer application.
